Orama Academy is a discipleship training centre located on Aotea, Great Barrier Island, our programmes create space for spiritual transformation through biblical teaching, prayer, community, and practical ministry. We exist to equip believers to know God deeply, understand their identity in Christ, and live out their faith with clarity, conviction, and love, wherever God leads them.
Our Values and Philosophy
Orama Academy is a Discipleship school committed to the truth that God loves people, gave Himself for them, and has given His Church supernatural power to bring individuals, communities and nations into holiness and wholeness.
Our mission is to strengthen, encourage, to equip and deploy disciples of Jesus, who passionately pursue transformation in their God-given spheres of influence.
We recognise we live in a world that daily seeks to mould and shape us according to its own image. At Orama, we seek to provide the Body of Christ the opportunity to intentionally step aside, to be moulded and shaped by Jesus through His word and by His Spirit within and through community.
As a school we believe in the critical importance of teaching biblical truth, however those truths must always be taught with the love, grace and respect Jesus would have taught with, even toward those that may disagree.
We also encourage all students to join our existing culture of respect, kindness and grace toward anyone we may disagree with, whether they be teacher, fellow student or community member. Disagreement is human, however ‘how’ we disagree is critical and must always be processed through the lens of love.
As a community of believers, we strive to honour one another with kindness, respect, and openness. We welcome different backgrounds, cultures and perspectives, and we hold unity in Christ above uniformity of opinion. Our desire is to form disciples who carry the love of Jesus into every part of life.
